I’m Taylor Mitchell. I’ve been in real estate for over 15 years, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: the system isn’t built for buyers – it’s built to keep you confused, rushed, and spending more than you should.
That’s why I started Home Buyers Talk. I wanted a place where real people could get real answers from someone who’s actually been in the weeds – not just another agent tossing out buzzwords or pushing listings. Around here, we don’t fluff up the numbers or gloss over the ugly stuff. We talk strategy. We ask hard questions. And we don’t apologize for walking away from a deal that doesn’t feel right.
I’ve helped hundreds of buyers over the years – first-timers, single parents, folks relocating cross-country with two weeks’ notice. I’ve seen bidding wars, heartbreak, miracle wins, and everything in between. I know how much emotion goes into this process – and how quickly bad advice can cost you thousands. My job is to help you skip the mistakes, stretch your dollars, and buy with your eyes open.
But I’m not just a housing market guy. I’ve got a thing for smoky mezcal, loud playlists, and Saturday mornings spent wandering flea markets with zero intention of buying anything practical. I read a lot – mostly history and behavioral psychology, with the occasional spy novel thrown in to balance it out. I cook to decompress (nothing fancy – cast iron, real butter, and maybe one pan too many). And yeah, I can talk your ear off about vintage stereo equipment or why I think everyone should learn how to patch drywall before they move in.
So, if you’re here to figure out how to buy a home without losing your shirt – or your sanity – you’re in the right place. Pour a coffee, dig into the articles, and don’t be afraid to question everything you’ve been told about what “home buying” is supposed to look like.
