Even in what one (liberal) syndicated columnist now says is the "context,"
Kerry sounds like an idiot. War isn't about "sensitivity" - but about killing
people and breaking things.

I fear that idiocy is not the same as simply being wrong. In this case, you
are simply and totally wrong. Only one part of a war, and arguably the
smallest part, is fought with guns and bombs. The rest if fought by
developing common cause with allies, removing your enemies potential allies
to at least neutral status, and if possible negotiating some with your enemy
so both of you can put down the big guns and go back to just insulting each
other over the truce table. In the greater context of the "war" on terror,
this odd war is just exactly about "sensitivity", more than it is about
lobbing bombs at suspected terrorists, when we can find em. We have been
waging a war for over 2 years now, no holds barred, and Al-Qaeda and Osama
still exist. If bombs answered the question, we would not be hearing about
those two any more. This is not a question of Democrat vs. Republican, or
Liberal vs. Conservative. Bush has a poor grasp of how to use his mighty
military machine, and seems to have no grasp at all of how to use his
"intelligence", economic and diplomatic power to fight this war. Kerry may
be an improvement, though perhaps not as much as we need or would hope. War
is not about killing people or breaking things, we do that in vast quantity
in peace time. War is about wining, and you can't win unless you can get the
other group to stop fighting. Did you think all you had to do to win was
kill everyone who stood up against you? 1984.

With a subject like that, it _started_ off-topic.
